Hand letterings inspired by the art and typography on the Danfo buses in Lagos, Nigeria.

“Danfo” is the name given to the iconic yellow buses which are primarily used for commuting by locals within the city of Lagos, Nigeria. Over the years, these buses have become embedded into the history, narrative, and popular culture in the city of Lagos, Nigeria.

The hand letterings in this project were designed to pay homage to the Danfo, and features popular sayings in Lagos, while also mirroring the visual language of the art on these iconic buses.
